PWC/RIB qualifies crew to run guest watersports activities safely on board, a common route for deckhands wanting an extra string to their bow. It's currently listed with 20 providers in the YachtSync directory, including Maritime School of the West Indies (MSWI). Requirements and syllabus depend on which specific discipline (powerboat, dinghy, windsurf) and RYA level you're aiming for.
My own route in: I did this as part of the Flying Fish deckhand package in Cowes back in 2018, excellent facilities, and bundling it with the rest of the deckhand training made it click rather than feel like a box-tick. Once guests are aboard and want the toys out, this is the ticket that earns its keep. See our ranked PWC & RIB courses →

PWC/RIB is an RYA instructor qualification that lets yacht crew safely run and supervise watersports activities for guests on board.
Deckhands and interior crew looking to add watersports responsibilities to their role typically take this, usually alongside an existing RYA Powerboat Level 2 or similar base qualification.
Duration depends on the specific discipline and your existing RYA qualifications. Providers can advise on the fastest route from where you're starting.
