Auckland-based superyacht training academy offering IYT-accredited deckhand, stewardess, powerboat, tender and VHF radio courses for crew entering or advancing in the superyacht industry.
Book direct →New Zealand Superyacht Academy is an IYT-accredited training centre based in Auckland, delivering practical superyacht crew courses designed for those entering or progressing within the industry. The academy covers all the core entry-level competencies — from interior and stewardess skills through to deckhand operations, RIB and tender handling, and essential radio licensing.
Courses are structured to be intensive and time-efficient: the RYA Powerboat & Tender course runs over three days, with one day of theory followed by two days on the water, giving students genuine boat-handling confidence. The Stewardess and Deckhand programmes are offered as standalone five- or six-day courses respectively, or as a combined eight-day package for those seeking a comprehensive entry-level qualification in both departments.
As an IYT-accredited academy, certifications are internationally recognised and directly relevant to superyacht employment requirements. Auckland’s position as New Zealand’s maritime hub, with access to the Hauraki Gulf, provides an ideal practical training environment on the water.
