How we checked the room guides
Rough guide built by YachtSync from published average prices for mid-range hotels and guesthouses in each town (travel-cost guides, tourism sites and travel price indices), with at least two sources per town. Never from Booking.com. Refreshed quarterly.
- Birzebbugia, €60 to €150, checked 23 Sep 2026. Hal Far is an industrial estate with no hotels, so this is based on Birzebbuga, the nearest town, about 2 km away, checked against Malta-wide published bands. Low end from published budget hotel and off-season averages, high end from the published typical and September averages; hostels and luxury left out. trivago gave GBP and KAYAK USD; converted to EUR at the ECB rate on 2026-09-22 and rounded. Sources: trivago (Birzebbuga) (usually £41 to £164 a night, typical £113 (about €132); lowest month December £58 (about €68), peak September £134 (about €156)); Radical Storage Malta guide (budget hotels €50 to €90 a night; mid-range hotels and guesthouses €90 to €170); KAYAK (Birzebbuga) (average weeknight $144 (about €126) over the last two weeks); Malta Tourism Authority, environmental contribution (€1.50 per night per person aged 18 or over, maximum €22.50 per visit, from 1 July 2026).
- San Diego, $100 to $260, checked 23 Sep 2026. Published averages for budget/2-star to 3-star mid-range hotels in San Diego, per room per night. Sources: BudgetYourTrip (budget hotels average $144/night; 2-star hotels $124/night; 3-star hotels $291/night); Champion Traveler (hotels range $80-$267/night, average $126; 3-star hotels average $247/night (per a cited secondary source)).
- Seattle, $130 to $280, checked 23 Sep 2026. Published averages for budget to mid-range hotels in Seattle, per room per night. Sources: BudgetYourTrip (budget hotels average $127/night; mid-range hotels average $254/night (high season ~$474)); GetCostIdea Seattle Hotel Prices 2026 (typical hotel cost per night ranges $150-$300).
- Dates and prices come from each school’s own public pages. Re-confirm with the school before you pay.
- A price is shown only against a date the school is still selling. A price with conditions we cannot compare like for like (several options, an extra charge with no figure, a price before VAT) is shown in the school’s own words and listed after the complete prices.
- Prices in another currency are converted at the European Central Bank reference rate published on 13 Oct 2026 and marked approx, with the school’s own figure under them. An estimate for comparison, not what your bank will charge.
- Most schools here do not publish what their price includes, so ask the school before you book.
- “Other costs” is about the town, not the school: a rough guide to a room there where we have sampled one, never a live price. “Variable” means we have not sampled that town.
Ordering. Sorted by price or by date, whichever you choose, never by commission. No school on this page pays YachtSync a commission. How we rank providers.
