Viareggio is accessible via the A11 motorway (Florence–Pisa Nord) or the A12 (Genoa–Livorno). From the north, take the A12 and exit at Viareggio. From Florence, take the A11 to Pisa Nord then follow signs for Viareggio on the SS1 coastal road. Journey from Florence is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes (90 km). Paid street parking and car parks are available throughout the town; parking near the seafront is in high demand during summer months.
