A leading IMO/STCW training centre in Split offering over 370 accredited courses — from Basic Safety Training and GMDSS to Yachtmaster, Master CoC and engineering tickets.
Book direct →SSM Training Centre, operated by Split Ship Management, is one of Croatia’s most comprehensive maritime training facilities. Based in Split — the heart of Croatia’s Dalmatian coast and a key superyacht hub — SSM delivers a catalogue of around 370 IMO/STCW-compliant courses conducted on a flexible weekly basis, making it practical for working crew to fit training around vessel schedules.
The centre holds approval from the Croatian Maritime Authority and is recognised by the UK’s Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA), meaning certificates gained here satisfy both Croatian national competency requirements and UK STCW endorsement pathways. SSM is also affiliated with the Nautical Institute, extending the relevance of its qualifications across international flag states and employers.
The course portfolio spans the full career ladder: from entry-level Basic Safety Training and elementary first aid through to Officer of the Watch (500 GT), Master certificates up to 3,000 GT, GMDSS operator certificates, approved engine courses, and specialist ETO/AV-IT training — all within a single facility in a city that is itself a natural base for yacht crew working the Adriatic.
Basic Safety Training to STCW A-VI/1 (course code D2), run as part of a catalogue of around 370 IMO/STCW-compliant courses conducted on a weekly basis, any day of the week.
