About BH Marine Academy

BH Marine Academy is an RYA-recognised Training Centre based in Weymouth, Dorset, offering a broad range of maritime education for aspiring and experienced sailors, powerboaters and professional crew. The academy's classroom facility is equipped with simulation suites, VHF and radar software, in-house engine demonstrations and life-raft training equipment, giving students practical exposure alongside their shorebased theory work.

The course programme spans the complete RYA sail pathway from Day Skipper through Coastal Skipper to Yachtmaster Offshore, as well as dedicated powerboat and tender courses. The academy also delivers industry-essential qualifications including STCW Basic Safety Training — covering firefighting, personal survival and safety techniques — and GMDSS/VHF Short Range Certificate (SRC) marine radio training.

Weymouth's natural harbour and sheltered coastal waters provide an excellent backdrop for practical sail and power training, while the town's well-established maritime community makes BH Marine Academy a practical base for anyone working towards professional crew or skipper qualifications on the south coast of England.
