Rating Forming Part of a Navigational Watch (RFPNW) course trains deck ratings and able seamen to stand navigational watch and perform watchkeeping duties. Meets STCW A-II/5 basic watchkeeping requirements.

Prerequisites

  • Basic Training in Maritime Safety (BST / STCW A-VI/1) completed or in progress
  • Ability to work in English
  • Medical fitness (STCW standards)
  • No formal sea service required for initial training
