RYA-accredited training on the Costa Blanca — Powerboat Level 2, Yachtmaster, VHF SRC and shorebased theory courses run from Marina El Portet, Denia.
Book direct →The Boat School is the Denia arm of Greenwich Nautica, an established RYA-recognised training centre operating on the Spanish Mediterranean coast. Courses run from Marina El Portet in Denia, putting students on the warm, sheltered waters of the Valencia region — an excellent environment for practical powerboat and sailing training year-round. The school is accredited by both the Royal Yachting Association and the Spanish maritime authority DGMM, meaning qualifications are recognised by flag states on both sides of the Channel.
The school's curriculum spans the full RYA coastal pathway: from the two-day Powerboat Level 2 (including the ICC for eligible nationalities) through Day Skipper theory and Coastal Skipper to the five-day Yachtmaster exam-preparation programme. Radio and communications qualifications (VHF SRC) are also available, delivered partly online with the practical assessment conducted face-to-face at the school. Courses are taught in English with small group sizes; the Yachtmaster preparation course accommodates a maximum of four candidates per vessel.
Shorebased theory — including RYA Day Skipper and Yachtmaster Offshore theory — is available through a partnership with Skippers Online (an RYA distance-learning centre) as well as in small-group classes at the Denia office, with exams sat online or in person. The school also coordinates access to medical services (ENG1/MFA/Medical Care) for crew requiring commercial certificates.
A two-day (16-hour) RYA Powerboat Level 2 course run from Marina El Portet, Denia, with at least 12 hours on the water. Taught in English; successful candidates from eligible countries qualify for the RYA-issued ICC (International Certificate of Competence).
