WHAT IS THIS COURSE?

Course Overview

The Updated Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (STCW A-VI/2-2) is a mandatory 5-year refresher for merchant marine officers and crew required to operate lifeboats and rescue boats. This practical course covers deployment, recovery, and emergency response procedures for all survival craft types.

Prerequisites

Valid or expiring PSCRB (Proficiency in Survival Craft & Rescue Boats) certificate
STCW medical fitness certification
At least 12 months relevant sea service
Good swimming ability and fitness for practical water work
