Course Overview

Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (PSSR) is a mandatory STCW 95/2010 component forming part of Basic Safety Training (STCW Table A-VI/1-4). It covers each seafarer's personal responsibilities for safety, emergency procedures, and effective communication aboard ship. The course is required for all seafarers serving on seagoing vessels.
