An operational/management-level course in celestial navigation using sun, moon, stars, and planets for ocean-going navigation. Trainees learn sight reduction, fix-finding, and backup navigation independent of GPS.

Prerequisites

  • Officer of the Watch (OOW) or higher
  • Basic navigation and mathematics
  • Prior ECDIS experience
