Course Overview

This STCW-mandated refresher updates your knowledge of advanced firefighting techniques and shipboard fire-safety systems. It is required to maintain your Advanced Fire Fighting (AFF) certificate, which must be revalidated every five years. The course covers incident command, fixed and portable extinguishing systems, cargo fire safety, and leadership in emergency response.

Prerequisites

  • Current Advanced Fire Fighting certificate (within 5 years)
  • Valid medical fitness certificate (ENG1 or equivalent)
  • STCW documentation and sea service record
  • Basic English language competency (IMO Level 2)
