WHAT IS THIS COURSE?

Course Overview

This is an International Maritime Organization (IMO) Model Course 1.20 qualification covering advanced medical procedures and care for seafarers on commercial vessels. It's for crew members who may need to provide medical care in remote maritime environments, leading to an MCA-recognised STCW A-VI/4 medical first aid certificate.

Prerequisites

  • Completion of Medical First Aid (MFA) or equivalent
  • Minimum age 18
  • Valid medical certificate (ENG 1 standard recommended)
  • Good English language skills (STCW minimum)
